Welcome to the QR code page! Now what do we do with it?
First, a bit of background information. QR codes are extremely popular in Japan and other parts of the world. For the longest of times, the QR code has been used primarily to store very basic information such as hyperlinks and contact information. But today, the use of the code has expanded in other fields such as using a QR code image downloaded on your phone to automatically check in at the airport.
Here’s an example of a QR code containing the corporation’s full contact information.

The above code might be too big to be properly decoded by older QR code reader programs. So here’s a scaled down version of the code containing only the most basic contact information.

Now that we know we can store just about any type of information in this image, how can we exploit it to the fullest? How can we go beyond its traditional use as a container for hyperlinks and contact information, and expand it into an effective marketing tool?
